Medical Advisory for COVID-19

Urgent: Please see the Arizona Sinus Center and Valley ENT Medical Advisory for our patients regarding the current COVID-19 Pandemic.

Valley ENT strives to provide the best care and information for our Patients. We remain ready to help you with your ongoing ENT needs. We will continue to monitor and follow the recommendations of the CDC (, Maricopa County Health Department, or Pima County Health Department.

At Valley ENT, we would like to advise our patients of the following:

  1. If you develop fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, seek medical advice promptly as this may be due to a respiratory infection or other serious condition. CALL IN ADVANCE and tell your provider of any recent travel. Calling in advance will allow your healthcare provider to direct you to the right health facility. This will also help to prevent possible spread of COVID-19 and other viruses.
  2. We are not set up to test for and treat COVID-19 infection. We are not an acute care facility. Patients or staff with symptoms of COVID-19 infection are asked to stay home or visit an acute care facility. The recommendations for testing will likely continue to change and will be updated at the websites above.
  3. If you have a fever(>100.4), recent cough (less than 3 weeks duration), or recent loss of sense of smell we ask that you reschedule your appointment with us or engage your Valley ENT provider through our Telemedicine Program.
  4. Regarding your appointment: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Valley ENT has modified its outpatient visit services at the request of the CDC. For any non-urgent ENT conditions or symptoms we recommend a telemedicine visit or rescheduling your appointment. We will remain available to evaluate your time sensitive, urgent and emergent ENT conditions in our clinics and offices. Please call us at (602) 258-9859 if you have questions about which conditions should be evaluated in person at our office/clinic and which conditions are appropriate for a telemedicine consultation.
  5. For on-site office and clinic visits we ask that you are accompanied by no more than one family member or visitor, fill out any possible paperwork in advance, and consider bringing a pen or writing instrument with you to decrease person to person contact in the office.
  6. Valley ENT remains committed to a clean patient environment. We continue our disinfection standards for all equipment, patient contact areas and surfaces and exam rooms between every patient encounter. We have increased our daily office disinfectant cleaning to morning, noon, and evening. We will avoid shared contact items such as magazines, toys, etc at this time.
  7. The WHO and the CDC recommend following these standard precautions for avoiding respiratory viruses:
    1. Wash hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
    2. Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze.
    3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth if your hands aren't clean.
    4. Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick.
    5. Avoid sharing dishes, glasses, bedding, and other household items if you are sick.
    6. Clean and disinfect surfaces you often touch.
    7. Stay home from work, school, and public areas if you're sick.
    8. Maintain distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing(about 6 feet).
    9. Avoid contact with others and/or wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing.
